WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, it was reported by online sources that Lee University had experienced a cybersecurity incident impacting the functionality of its systems. In an email to News Channel 9 Lee University made a statement saying: “Lee University became aware of a potential security incident early Friday morning, March 22, 2024. With assistance from external resources, Lee University’s IT team took immediate measures to contain the suspected incident and secure Lee’s environment. Classes have continued as scheduled. The investigation is still ongoing, and we are unable to share specific information on the nature of the incident or extent of its impact.”1 As of April 19, 2024, Lee University has not disclosed the specific nature of the cybersecurity incident and whether the incident resulted in a data breach.
