Turke & Strauss LLP, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Payroll Select Services, LLC (“Payroll Select”) regarding its recent data breach. The Payroll Select data breach involved sensitive personal identifiable information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.

Today, Payroll Select provides payroll and tax solutions to business owners, managers, and payroll professionals through its custom software.2 Additionally, Payroll Select offers time and attendance tracking, human resource solutions, and various reporting services. Headquartered in Toledo, Ohio, Payroll Select has one location.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, Payroll Select discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Payroll Select determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information on September 7, 2023. On March 28, 2024, Payroll Select began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Address
  • Date of birth
  • Financial information (e.g., banking and billing information)
