WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Orthopedic Associates discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Orthopedic Associates determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information through a physician’s email account between July 7 and September 7, 2023. On March 6, 2024, Orthopedic Associates began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Financial account and/or payment card number
- Medical information
