Opus Match Data Breach Investigation

Turke & Strauss LLP, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating MyLong IO, Inc., which does business as Opus Match, regarding its recent data breach. The Opus Match data breach involved sensitive personal information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.

Opus Match is a software development company based in California. Founded in 2020, Opus Match offers private and white-labeled front-end solutions for mobile and web platforms, including candidate-facing mobile apps and web portals, client-facing apps and booking portals, in-house dashboards, recruiter consoles, and comprehensive talent marketplaces.2 Additionally, Opus Match provides the opportunity to develop front-end components tailored to an agency’s requirements.2 Headquartered in San Francisco, California, Opus Match employs over 10 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, Opus Match discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Opus Match determined that an unauthorized party may have accessed this sensitive information on November 11, 2023. On March 8, 2024, Opus Match began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The exact type of personal information potentially exposed has not been made publicly available by Opus Match. However, according to state reporting guidelines, “personal information” can include the following types of information:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license or state-issued identification number
  • Financial information (e.g., financial account number, credit or debit card number)
  • Medical information
  • Taxpayer ID number
  • Identity protection personal ID number
