B&B Electric Data Breach Investigation

Turke & Strauss LLP, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating B&B Electric Inc. regarding its recent data breach. The B&B Electric data breach involved personal identifiable information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.

B&B Electric is an electrical services company based in Wisconsin. Founded in 1984, B&B Electric creates  custom electrical solutions for each customer, with industry-specific safety standards always taken into consideration.2 Today, B&B Electric’s specialties include commercial, industrial, healthcare, mining, and public works projects.2 Additionally, B&B Electric’s design and estimating department works on creating project blueprints, outlining budgets, and helps project the manpower needed to complete projects on time.2 Headquartered in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, B&B Electric has four additional locations in Wisconsin and Minnesota and employs over 200 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, B&B Electric discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, B&B Electric determined that an unauthorized party may have accessed this sensitive information via a ransomware attack between January 17 and January 23, 2024. On February 20, 2024, B&B Electric began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Address
  • Date of birth
