Bacon Universal Data Breach Investigation

Turke & Strauss LLP, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Bacon Universal Holdings, LLC (“Bacon Universal”) regarding its recent data breach. The Bacon Universal data breach involved sensitive personal identifiable information belonging to over 3,000 individuals.

Founded in 1947, Bacon Universal carries industry-leading manufacturer equipment brands, offering parts distribution, a comprehensive and diverse fleet of rental equipment, and service repair and maintenance.2 Featuring brands such as Komatsu, Kubota, New Holland, NPK, Extreme & JLG, Bacon Universal offers the widest variety of construction, agriculture, and material handling equipment available in Hawaii.2 Headquartered in Honolulu, Hawaii, Bacon Universal has four additional locations in Hawaii and employs over 50 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, Bacon Universal discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Bacon Universal determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information between August 18 and August 22, 2023. On February 23, 2024, Bacon Universal began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of personal information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
