Founded in 1949, Maryville provides comprehensive, high-quality substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health services for individuals and families, utilizing evidenced-based practices and producing positive outcomes throughout service delivery.2 Today, Maryville’s programming includes community education, outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment in Turnersville and Vineland Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics, and medically monitored detoxification and residential substance use and gambling treatment in Williamstown and Pemberton.2 Headquartered in Williamstown, New Jersey, Maryville has three additional locations in New Jersey and employs over 50 individuals.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Maryville discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Maryville determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information through a corporate email account between August 21 and August 22, 2023. On February 20, 2024, Maryville began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of personal information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Government identification
- Financial account information
- Medical treatment information
- Health insurance information
