North Hill Data Breach Investigation

Turke & Strauss LLP, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating North Hill Communities, Inc., North Hill Home Health Care, Inc., North Hill Needham, Inc., Connected for Life, Inc., and the North Hill Employee Dental Plan (collectively, “North Hill”) regarding its recent data breach. The North Hill data breach involved sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.

ABOUT NORTH HILL:

North Hill is a non-profit retirement community located in Massachusetts. Founded in 1984, North Hill offers three modern living communities – Crescent Heights for independent living, Vista Terrace for enhanced living, and Pines Edge for skilled nursing and long-term care – all on a single 59-acre, state-of-the-art campus.3 At North Hill, residents enjoy constant cultural enrichment and intellectual stimulation, 5-star dining, and social interaction – all in a modern, updated, secure environment that promotes healthy aging.3 Located in Needham, Massachusetts, North Hill employs over 50 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

In December 2023, North Hill discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, North Hill determined that an unauthorized party may have accessed this sensitive information starting on December 19, 2023. On February 14, 2024, North Hill began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Date of birth
  • Address
  • Driver’s license number
  • Phone number
  • Admission date
  • Financial account or bank account number
  • Medical information (e.g., medical record number, treatment dates)
  • Health insurance information (e.g., health insurance identification number, claims information)
