As an accounting firm, ML & CO provides bookkeeping services, IRS representation, payroll services, and tax preparation and planning services. Additionally, ML & CO helps deal with back taxes, CNC status, and wage garnishments. Located in Pittsburg, Kansas, ML & CO has been offering accounting services to its customers since 2018.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, ML & CO discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, ML & CO determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information through an employee email account between June 22 and July 18, 2023. On December 21, 2023, ML & CO began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license number
  • Financial account information (e.g., bank account number, routing number, credit or debit card number)
  • Medical information
  • Health insurance information
