BASIS Educational Group Data Breach Investigation

Turke & Strauss LLP, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating BASIS Educational Group, LLC regarding its recent data breach. The BASIS Educational Group data breach involved sensitive personal identifiable information belonging to over 3,100 individuals.

ABOUT BASIS EDUCATIONAL GROUP:

BASIS Educational Group is a for-profit educational administration company. Accordingly, BASIS Educational Group implements and supervises the BASIS Charter School Curriculum. Founded in 2009, BASIS Educational Group offers human resources, financial, marketing, operations, and information technology administrative support services. Headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, BASIS Educational Group conducts business throughout Arizona, Louisiana, Texas, and the District of Columbia to serve students from kindergarten to high school.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On or around March 1, 2023, BASIS Educational Group discovered that it experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, BASIS Educational Group determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed and obtained this sensitive information by copying files from BASIS Educational Group’s computer network. On July 25, 2023, BASIS Educational Group began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
