Zai Lab Data Breach Investigation

Turke & Strauss LLP, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Zai Lab (US) LLC regarding its recent data breach. The Zai Lab data breach involved sensitive personal identifiable information belonging to an undetermined number of current and former employees.


Zai Lab is a global biopharmaceutical company based in China and the United States. Founded in 2014, Zai Lab specializes in the production of medication for a variety of applications including oncology, autoimmune disorders, infectious diseases, and neurological disorders. Recently, Zai Lab discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Zai Lab determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information on or about November 28, 2023. On December 22, 2023, Zai Lab began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Contact information
  • Driver’s license number
  • Passport information or other government issued identifications
  • Financial account information
