Qorvo Data Breach Investigation

Turke & Strauss LLP, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Qorvo, Inc. regarding its recent data breach. The Qorvo data breach involved sensitive personal information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.

ABOUT QORVO, INC.:

Qorvo is a global technology manufacturing company specializing in semiconductor solutions. Formed in 2015 via the merger of RF Micro Devices and TriQuint Semiconductor, Qorvo provides core radio frequency (RF) and power technologies and solutions to mobile, infrastructure, the loT, defense/aerospace, and power management markets.2 Offering more than 2,000 products, including amplifiers, discrete transistors, filters and duplexers, optical, passives, and power solutions, Qorvo products have been featured in over 1.5 billion mobile devices. Headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina, Qorvo has engineering and manufacturing facilities in North America, Europe, and Asia, and employs more than 8,000 individuals across 17 countries.  

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, Qorvo discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Qorvo determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed and acquired this sensitive information in August 2023. On December 21, 2023, Qorvo began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The exact type of personal information potentially exposed has not been made publicly available by Qorvo. However, according to state reporting guidelines, “personal information” can include the following types of information:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license, state ID card, or tribal ID card number
  • Financial information (e.g., account number or credit or debit card number, in combination with any required security code, access code, or password that would permit access to an individual’s financial account)
  • Medical information (e.g., medical history, physical or mental condition, or medical treatment)
  • Taxpayer ID number
  • IRS Identity Protection Personal Identification Number
