JAE Oregon is a manufacturing subsidiary of Tokyo-based Japan Aviation Electronics Industry, Ltd. (“JAE”) that specializes in high quality manufacturing and industrial engineering services. As JAE’s North American headquarters for development and manufacturing, JAE Oregon manufactures electrical components for cars. Headquartered in Tualatin, Oregon, JAE Oregon employs over 500 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On November 2, 2023, JAE Oregon discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, JAE Oregon determined that an unauthorized actor may have specifically accessed the sensitive information belonging to current and former employees. On December 20, 2023, JAE Oregon began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed include:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Financial information
  • Driver’s license number
  • Passport number
  • Medical information
  • Health Insurance information
