Plug Power Data Breach Investigation

Turke & Strauss LLP, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Plug Power Inc. regarding its recent data breach. The Plug Power data breach involved sensitive personal identifiable information belonging to over 8,000 individuals.

Notably, Plug Power “has built the most hydrogen fueling stations in North America, enabling green, sustainable power for companies that demand high asset-utilization in an electric world”1. Focused on on-demand delivery, Plug Power’s fuel delivery network consists of six high pressure tube trailers regionally positioned throughout North America. Plug Power has over 1,000 employees and reported annual revenue of $701 million in 2022.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, Plug Power discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Plug Power determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed and acquired this sensitive information between March 13 and March 23, 2023. On December 15, 2023, Plug Power began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
