WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, a third-party service provider of CNB Bank & Trust, Fiserv discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal information may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Fiserv determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed and acquired this sensitive information through a vulnerability in the MOVEit file sharing platform between May 27 and May 31, 2023. As a result, CNB Bank & Trust began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted by the breach. The exact type of personal information potentially exposed has not been made publicly available by CNB Bank & Trust. However, according to state reporting guidelines, “personal information” can include the following types of information:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license number
  • Credit or debit card number
  • Medical information
  • Health insurance information
