As a software provider, AvidXchange helps businesses automate payments to its vendors and suppliers through a variety of applications, including AvidBuy, AvidPay, AvidUtility, and AvidInvoice. WHAT HAPPENED?
On April 3, 2023, AvidXchange discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, AvidXchange determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed and acquired this sensitive information on March 3, 2022. Additionally, between May 2 and May 31, 2023, the unauthorized actor published some of the sensitive data it acquired from AvidExchange on the dark web. On October 13, 2023, AvidXchange began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Financial account number
- Credit and debit card numbers
- Account password
