Mosaic Mental Health Data Breach Investigation

Turke & Strauss LLP, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Riverdale Mental Health, which does business as Mosaic Mental Health, regarding its recent data breach. The Mosaic Mental Health data breach involved sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information belonging to over 7,200 individuals.


Mosaic Mental Health is a substance abuse and behavioral health provider. Founded in 1959, Mosaic Mental Health offers a wide variety of services, including drug and alcohol abuse programs, child and family services, group, couples, and individual therapy, crisis services, and care for adults with mental illnesses. Additionally, Mosaic Mental Health provides services to help the community, such as housing for those with mental illnesses, job coaching, vocational assessment, work readiness training and more. Headquartered in Bronx, New York, Mosaic Mental Health serves over 2,000 patients annually and employs over 50 individuals.


On July 27, 2023, Mosaic Mental Health discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Mosaic Mental Health determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information on July 27, 2023. Recently, Mosaic Mental Health began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Date of birth
  • Address
  • Health insurance information
  • Medical information (e.g., diagnosis codes, clinical data, progress notes and evaluations, and procedure codes)
