Over the past 40 years, Oak Valley Hospital District has grown from an inpatient treatment facility to a broad network of full-service medical departments. Among the sub-entities of Oak Valley Hospital District are a woman’s health center, an occupational health practice, and community clinics. To meet the medical needs of the community, Oak Valley Hospital District employs approximately 500 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On July 18, 2023, Oak Valley Hospital District discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Oak Valley Hospital District determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information between April 21, 2023, and July 18, 2023. On September 15, 2023, Oak Valley Hospital District posted a notice of the incident on its website and plans to mail letters to patients whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Healthcare information 
  • Health insurance information
