Corebridge Financial Data Breach Investigation

Turke & Strauss LLP, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Corebridge Financial regarding its recent data breach. The Corebridge Financial data breach involved sensitive personal identifiable information belonging to more than 798,000 individuals.

Headquartered in Houston, Texas, Corebridge Financial operates offices across Texas and conducts business throughout all 50 U.S. states.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On June 16, 2023, Corebridge Financial discovered that one of its third-party vendors experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information of Corebridge Financial customers may have been accessed. While the third-party vendor remains unnamed, Corebridge Financial utilizes this company to ensure compliance with regulations and to receive operational support services. Through its investigation, Corebridge Financial determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information through a vulnerability in the MOVEit file transfer software used by its third-party vendor beginning on May 27, 2023. According to a notice posted on its website, Corebridge Financial will begin contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted once the investigation is complete. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Date of birth
  • Address
  • Policy numbers
