As a credit union, Ventura County Credit Union offers checking and savings accounts, credit cards, retirement accounts, and youth accounts. Additionally, Ventura Credit Union provides both home and personal loans as well as car loans. Headquartered in Ventura, California, Ventura County Credit Union has 9 locations across the Ventura Area. Founded in 1950, Ventura County Credit Union has approximately 70,000 members and over $1.3 billion in assets.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On December 14, 2022, Ventura County Credit Union discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Ventura County Credit Union determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information between October 20 and December 15, 2022. On July 6, 2023, Ventura County Credit Union began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Financial account information
