City National Bank of Florida Data Breach Investigation

WHAT HAPPENED?

On May 31, 2023, City National Bank of Florida discovered that Progress Software, a third-party vender used by City National Bank of Florida, experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information of City National Bank of Florida customers may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, City National Bank of Florida determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed and obtained this sensitive information through a cyber-attack on the MOVEit file transfer software used by Progress Software between May 29 and May 30, 2023. On June 30, 2023, City National Bank of Florida began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Address
  • Date of birth
  • Contact information (e.g., email address)
  • Bank account number
