Turke & Strauss LLP, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating MedInform, Inc. regarding its recent data breach. The MedInform data breach involved sensitive personal identifiable information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.

MedInform, Inc. is a healthcare information technology company specializing in the development and provision of medical informatics. Accordingly, MedInform offers a range of innovative products and services designed to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare organizations. Founded in 2000, MedInform creates products aimed to streamline clinical workflows, improve patient care, and enable healthcare providers to make data-driven decisions. Headquartered in Independence, Ohio, MedInform has specialized in the business of accident recovery and itemization solutions for over 21 years.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On or about December 21, 2022, MedInform discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems belonging to Cleveland Clinic patients may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, MedInform determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed and obtained this sensitive personal identifiable information between December 5 and December 21, 2022. On May 24, 2023, MedInform began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Financial account information
  • Medical billing information
  • Address
