WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers discovered that it had experienced a cybersecurity incident in which the sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. While much information is still unknown about the breach, a ransomware group added Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers to their list of victims on their website on May 22, 2023. According to online sources, the ransomware group provided several files as proof of access to Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers’ system. On May 23, 2023, Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers posted a notice of the breach on its website, which states that it is conducting an extensive investigation with assistance from outside experts and will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
