Turke & Strauss LLP, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating The Heritage Group regarding its recent data breach. The Heritage Group data breach involved sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.

ABOUT THE HERITAGE GROUP:

The Heritage Group is a construction company specializing in heavy construction and materials, environmental services, and specialty chemicals. As a conglomerate of construction companies, The Heritage Group offers a variety of services and products from solvents and chemical intermediates, to road construction services using crushed stone, gravel, and specialty materials. Founded in 1930, The Heritage Group is a 4th generation family-owned business headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Heritage Group employs over 5,000 individuals across more than 30 companies in 170 locations throughout North America, Europe, and China.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On January 17, 2023, The Heritage Group discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, The Heritage Group determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information between January 13 and January 17, 2023. On May 1, 2023, The Heritage Group began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Date of birth
  • Driver’s license number
  • Passport number
  • Medical information
