Headquartered in Sparks, Maryland, Apex Tool Group operates offices and factories across more than 30 countries and four continents. Apex Tool Group employs over 8,000 individuals and manages an annual revenue of approximately $1.6 billion.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On March 11, 2022, Apex Tool Group discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Apex Tool Group determined that an unauthorized actor may have initially accessed this sensitive information on or around February 21, 2022. On February 8, 2023, Apex Tool Group began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Date of birth
  • Driver’s license number
  • Passport number
  • Financial information (e.g., account number)
