Turke & Strauss LLP, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Disability Help Group, LLC regarding its recent data breach. The Disability Help Group data breach involved sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information belonging to more than 2,300 current and former employees.


Disability Help Group specializes in disability claims assistance for individuals looking for help, advocacy, or expertise in filing disability claims with the Social Security Administration and Veterans’ Affairs. Founded over a decade ago, Disability Help Group aspires to ensure that claimants’ rights are being protected and that its clients receive all of the benefits they are entitled to. Disability Help Group uses medical records, treatment information, and income details to file disability claims. Taking on a wide array of disability claimants, Disability Help Group assists clients with everything from individuals with immune system disorders to strokes and traumatic brain injuries. Disability Help Group is currently headquartered in Plantation, Florida.


On June 16, 2022, Disability Help Group discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Disability Help Group determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed and obtained this sensitive information on June 13, 2022. On November 18, 2022, Disability Help Group began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information impacted includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Date of birth
  • Driver’s license number
  • Financial information (e.g., account number)
  • Health insurance information
  • Medical information
