WHAT HAPPENED?

On August 15, 2022, Ascension St. Vincent’s Coastal Cardiology experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Ascension St. Vincent’s Coastal Cardiology determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive by launching a ransomware attack. On October 14, 2022, Ascension St. Vincent’s Coastal Cardiology began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information impacted includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Address
  • Contact information (e.g., email address, phone number)
  • Health insurance information
  • Billing information
  • Medical information
