Founded in 1976, Brasseler USA is known for manufacturing high quality dental diamond burs and carbide rotary instruments. Headquartered in Savannah, Georgia, Brasseler USA employs over 200 individuals in administrative, sales, manufacturing, and research and design positions.
WHAT HAPPENED?
On June 24, 2022, Brasseler USA experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Brasseler USA determined that an unauthorized actor may have gained access to this sensitive information in a ransomware attack. On August 17, 2022, Brasseler USA began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Driver’s license number
- Passport number
- Health insurance information
- Financial information (e.g., account number, debit or credit card number)
- Health insurance information
- Medical information
