Established in 1976, PTAC provides car owners with a one-stop shop for factory scheduled maintenance service and repairs for autos, SUVs, Minivans, and Hybrids.2 Today, PTAC services 2.5 million vehicles each year and provides the driving public with car care education for personal safety and environmental health.2 Headquartered in Ashburn, Virginia, PTAC has over 270 professional service facilities across six countries and employs over 1,000 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, PTAC discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, PTAC determined that an unauthorized party may have accessed this sensitive information on January 7, 2024. As a result, PTAC began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number 
  • Address
