MarineMax Cyber Security Incident Investigation

Founded in 1998, MarineMax’s integrated business includes IGY Marinas, which operates luxury marinas in yachting and sport fishing destinations around the world; Fraser Yachts Group and Northrop & Johnson, leading superyacht brokerage and luxury yacht services companies; Cruisers Yachts, one of the world’s premier manufacturers of premium sport yachts and motor yachts; and Intrepid Powerboats, a premier manufacturer of powerboats.2 Additionally, MarineMax provides financing and insurance services as well as leading digital technology products that connect boaters to a network of preferred marinas, dealers, and marine professionals through Boatyard and Boatzon.2 Headquartered in Clearwater, Florida, MarineMax has more than 125 locations worldwide, including 78 dealerships and 57 marinas, and employs over 1,000 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On March 10, 2024, MarineMax determined that it had experienced a cybersecurity incident in which an unauthorized third party gained access to portions of its information environment. On the same day, MarineMax reported the incident in a Form 8-K filing with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. According to the filing, MarineMax’s investigation into the extent of the incident remains ongoing.
