Today, Insomniac Games is best known for developing award-winning video game franchises across multiple platforms, including Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018), Spyro the Dragon (1998), Ratchet & Clank (2002), and Resistance (2005).2 Headquartered in Burbank, California, Insomniac Games has an additional location in Durham, NC, and employs over 200 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, Insomniac Games discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Insomniac Games determined that an unauthorized party may have accessed this sensitive information between November 25 and November 26, 2023. On February 23, 2024, Insomniac Games began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of personal information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Financial account information
  • Driver’s license number
  • Credit/Debit card number
