WHAT HAPPENED?

On April 19, 2024, Octapharma reported that it had experienced a cybersecurity incident impacting the functionality of its systems. According to a statement made on its website, “On Wednesday, April 17, Octapharma Plasma USA detected suspicious activity on its network. We activated our incident response processes to investigate and also took systems offline to limit the potential scope of this event. Our staff are working tirelessly to reopen our USA plasma donation centers as soon as possible.”1 As of April 24, 2024, Octapharma has not disclosed the specific nature of the cybersecurity incident and whether the incident resulted in a data breach.
